Just got asked to classify Flexible magnetic picture frame. Is it classified as a picture frame or a magnet? What would be the essential character. After searching C.R.O.S.S. I looked at the ruling N059962. Looks like this will be classfied under 8505.19.2000. (Composite Goods Containing a flexible magnet.) Done. that was easy..

There are some common mistakes which people seem to make when trying to import. These mistakes usually result in wasting a lot of time, money and effort, so if you want to make sure that you don’t run into unnecessary road blocks, here is what you should know about import.
Importing without paperwork is impossible and in this line of business, you have to make sure that you are not missing anything. Unfortunately, there are quite a few mandatory documents and if you want to make sure that your shipment will get to you rapidly, you will need the help of a customs broker in this department or you will have to be patient and start filling out the documents on your own.
One of the most common mistakes is wrong packaging and missing information on said package. If you are trying to import anything into the US, you have to make sure that the person who is sending the package can abide to some simple rules.
You should also know your product before you start shipping in various goods. Make sure that you are not importing products that require special permits or get the approval before you start the process. This is not a complicated matter, but it needs to be done.
This is just the start of the process, but we allow you to focus on your business while we get this complete for you.
